Standardized Testing: EQAO, FSA, PAT

We help prepare your child for standardized tests.

As a parent, your child’s standardized test results can tell you how much your child is learning at school. Do they know what they need to know? How are they really getting on compared with other children in your province? Your child only does this test once every few years and it takes a long time for the results to come out.

Our tutoring is based on the provincial curriculum. It gives parents an up to date insight of how their children are really progressing. Children with a strong understanding of the curriculum are well prepared for the stress of provincial standardized testing.

Our Math Doctor tool will immediately provide a complete report detailing your child’s understanding of the curriculum. We will then create a learning plan to go back and fix the areas of the curriculum that your child needs help with.

Ontario – EQAO: Grade 3, Grade 6, Grade 9 Math and Grade 10 Literacy Test

In Ontario, students in Grade 3 and Grade 6 complete their EQAO (Education Quality and Accountability Office) tests in both Math and English. In Grade 9, students write their EQAO test in Math only, and Grade 10 students write the OSSLT (Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test). These tests can be stressful on students who want to achieve the highest scores they can. This can especially be the case if a student is struggling with their Math and English classes. They may be low in confidence which leads to lower motivation to study and do well on these tests.

For English, our tutors will assess your child to determine your strengths and weaknesses and develop a lesson plan to target the areas of the curriculum that your child needs help with.

Alberta – PAT: Grade 6, Grade 9 Math, English, and More

In Alberta, students in Grade 6 and Grade 9 complete their PATs (Provincial Achievement Tests) in a wide range of subjects including English, French, Math, Science and Social Studies. These tests can be stressful on students who want to achieve the highest scores they can. This can especially be the case if a student is struggling with any of these subjects. They may be low in confidence which leads to lower motivation to study and do well on these tests.

Since our program is based on the provincial curriculum, we can take care of preparing your child for the Math and English portions of these tests. With the recommended use of three 20 minute sessions a week, your child will be effectively preparing for the Math and English portion of the test, giving them more time to study for the other subjects on the test and allowing them to achieve the best grades they can.

These tests can be stressful on students who want to achieve the highest scores they can. This can especially be the case if a student is struggling with any of these subjects.
